Called and made an appointment to get my 899 ducati mapped after replacing the engine. I called back to move my appointment for noon because I said I still need the wiring harness put back together, and the man said sure just bring it in. Rented a truck and drove 2 hours up there. The appointment was supposed to be at 12 noon which I showed up on time. At 1 they said they would look at it and see what needed to be done two hours later they said they cant get to it today because the mechanic is at training. Everyone saw the bike when I unloaded it. I wouldn't have brought it there if you said it couldn't have been done in a day. The service manager also kept insisting that I did not tell anyone the bike was not fully put together. He also insisted that he sent an email to me, which I did not receive and had to send him one while I was on the phone with him so that he could send me one. But apparently I'm the one who misspoke on the phone. Considering this and all the other miscommunication going on in this organization, this statement is highly doubtful So they said they could get to it next week. Whatever I left. Then they send me an email with what they think is a liability waver that they wanted me to acknowledge which quoted an amount of time it would take to do the work : This is a follow up of our conversation referring to the 2014 Ducati 899 VIN ***********, to have the bike put back together, flashed, and tested will take between 4-10 hours at $95.00 an hour. Since Garcia Moto was the one that took it apart and you are the one that replaced the engine, we can not be held liable for any damages done to the components of the bike. We will do our best, with our certified Ducati technician, to put the bike back together so we can test the bike for the purpose of your eBay warranty of the engine you bought from eBay. Please respond back that you understand we will not assume responsibility for any damages to the bike seeing that we are finishing the work of two others before us. Thank You, Brad Tindall Service Manager Baker Motorsports So a week later after no response or communication I called and now they said they dont want to do the work because of liability issues. 1. You could have told me that the day I brought the bike up 2. Quoted me a time frame to do the work and then a week later decided not to do it because other people have worked on the bike? Four hours of my time were wasted driving there and also $200+ in rental and gas money. I could have had the bike up and running in the 3 weeks it just sat there. I barely ever write reviews but this is absolutely the worst organization I have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with. After all this I'm actually glad they didn't touch my bike because if the way they handled this situation reflects the quality of work they do, I wouldn't want them touching it in the first place. I'm not sure how the sales section operates but the service side seems to be incompetent. Learn from my mistake and save yourself a headache and take your bike anywhere else.
