I brought my 2015 BMW R1200R to Service because of a fault light on the dashboard. This was an intermittent light, a yellow triangle. The fault was traced to a faulty shift assist module. I was informed that this part would cost $700 and another $52.50 labor to install and needed to be ordered. My bike is equipped with clutchless shifting. I almost never use it, as clutch-shifting is muscle memory for me. So $750 to replace a device I almost never use and did nothing to break is a bitter pill to swallow, especially when the bike, including the shifting, still works perfectly. As I understand it, I'd be spending $750 just to have the light turned off. It is tempting not to replace the part, but then it produces anxiety to always see the light burning and if there was a more serious fault, I would not see it as it uses the same light. Further, if and when I sell the bike, the new owner would surely demand that it be fixed (or deeply discounted). This part looks simple enough and I've seen similar electro-mechanical parts on other brands cost a fraction of that $700. Perhaps the manufacturer could warranty the part for life? Again, it is of no fault of mine that it is malfunctioning. That said, the staff was helpful and courteous as always.

I had trouble finding a front-wheel chock to stabilize my bike in transport. FRONTLINE Eurosports not only had more than 1 to choose from, parts mgr Mike talked me thru the options on the phone and again in person. He even helped me text drive the Baxley chock, proving to me that the device actually holds my 850 lb. bike upright. Rock steady, as the mfg says. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the care and attention he provided, ridding me of my uncertainty in making this purchase.
